Description: Renowned Director/Creative Director Richard Winn Taylor II will take us on trip down memory lane, using images and video to illustrate the diverse road he has taken through out his career. From light shows, commercials, feature films, television, games and special venue projects, Richard is now immersed in 3D VR. Hear how he has evolved with the latest technologies and venues to stay current and transfer his skills to the evolution of entertainment.

Bio: Richard has an extensive background in live action direction, production design, special effects, and computer-generated images for theatrical films, television commercials, computer games and VR formats. He has a BFA in painting and drawing from the University of Utah and received The Cole Porter Fellowship to USC where he earned his Masters Degree in Photography.

He co-created Rainbow Jam, a multi-media light show that toured with The Grateful Dead and regularly preformed with bands such as Santana, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, and Crosby Stills and Nash. He has received four Clio awards for commercials.

On Star Trek: The Motion Picture, he supervised the design and construction of the miniatures including The Enterprise, and supervised the storyboarding of the film. He was the co-effects director for Walt Disney’s Tron and has been Cinematic Director for Microsoft Gaming Studios and Electronic Arts Los Angeles. His Turner Classic Movie 31 Days of Oscars won a Gold and Two Silvers in the 2010 BDA Awards.

Richard is a member of the DGA (Directors Guild of America). He has been the Vice-Chair of the VES (Visual Effects Society) and is on the Presidential Advisory Board at The Academy of Art University of San Francisco. He holds an Honorary Doctorate from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco and in 2014 the Visual Effects Society elected Richard as the 10th Honorary Fellow. He has his own company XLNT FX Inc.

Presently Richard is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Imerce Entertainment a new 3D VR format creating photo-real imaging for theater, gaming and themed entertainment venues.
