Instructor: Jeannie Brunnick

Saturday, TIME CHANGE 9am-1pm

Always with the great California outdoors as inspiration, students focus on learning to duplicate the exact light of day, interpret the landscape into meaningful shapes and color patterns, and how to capture the essence of the world around them. Each week the class meets at a different location, with the first course meeting on campus. Please Note: You will be required to drive to various locations, and occasionally pay parking fees and park fees as part of this course. We will explore the basic techniques and concepts of Plein Air painting such as, value, shape, edges and color, composition, color mixing, brushwork, blending

Analytical Figure Drawing
(Starts July 17th – 10wks)
Instructor: Kirk Shinmoto
Saturday, 10am-1pm

The goal of this class is to develop your understanding of the human form, both in how it moves and how it is constructed. Emphasis will also be placed on considering the whole figure as a complete idea, as well as designing what we see to make a clearer and more concise statement. Developing good drawing habits is also stressed.

#6009 – Long Pose Head Drawing & Painting [Teen Program]
(Starts July 18th – 8wks)$295

Instructor: Alex Douziech
Sunday, 1:30pm-4:30pm

This class will focus on the structure of the head, how light hits form, how to simplify values, and color theory through a limited palette. We will be working from one live model the whole time. My hope is to introduce the students to the basic fundamentals of painting the head. At the end of the class, the students should be able to have a finished head study that they can feel proud of.
