Marty Kline has worked in theme park design, film, television and video games. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he has a BS in Metallurgy from Carnegie Tech and an MS in Materials Science from Columbia University. He studied art at Otis Art Institute, in Los Angeles, where he was awarded a Ford Foundation Fellowship for the study of Fine Art Lithography at Tamarind Institute.
As Senior Visual Effects Art Director for Imageworks from 1995 to 2008, he supervised the art of effects on Contact, Stuart Little, Spider-Man and Beowulf. As a production illustrator his projects include The Flintstones, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Broken Arrow, Multiplicity, Back to the Future, Parts II and III and many more. He was a first unit art director on Jurassic Park and Forrest Gump. At Apogee he was responsible for visual effects art direction for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Dune and Firefox.
At Walt Disney’s WED Enterprises, he participated in EPCOT design and Fantasyland redevelopment. As an independent designer, he did theme park design projects in Tokyo and Kobe, Japan. He has worked in video game art direction overseeing many projects for THQ Games.
Marty is a member of the Art Directors Guild and a charter member of the Visual Effects Society, serving on its initial board of governors.
