Pastels or Oil Paints it’s your choice!
Can you draw with charcoals? Then you can paint with soft pastels. The principle is the same. The only difference is the use of color for accomplishing remarkable works of fine and illustration art. No drying process involved, therefore speeding the production of images manyfold. Also ideal for sketching landscapes, portraits or still lifes leading to a finished oil painting. It is all connected.
Break away from the myth of needing so many pastels. Not more than 25 soft pastels needed to cover the full range of colors. No need for expensive materials. Choosing the right paper color and tone for faster resolution of the painting. All of this and other techniques to help you develop into a more rounded fine, as well as illustration artist.
You also have the option to create landscapes in oil paints if you so desire. Rodolfo will be guiding students who choose this option through the intricacies and nuances of this medium, whilst observing and creating landscapes of their own. Emphasis on the development of drafting abilities to be applied on final oil through small sketches on location or from photos in studio.
