This class is designed for people of all levels. From novice to pro, the need for continued practice and the understanding of human anatomy is essential in making a more personal figurative drawing. Through thought-out and easily understood exercises, I will show you how to understand the anatomy, so that you can draw with confidence.
Week 1: Skeleton. I will go over basic structural aspects of the human skeleton and also go over the differences between the sexes.
Week 2: Focus on the lower leg and foot. Also the thigh and glutes.
Week 3: Front torso muscles. Pectorals, abdominals, external obliques, serratus anterior.
Week 4: Back and shoulder muscles
Week 5: Arms and hands
Week 6: Head and neck basics plus an overview of the body. Also demos on the reclining nude and how to draw this challenging pose.

Materials are whatever you wish to draw with while taking notes, pencil on paper or digital.

Rey Bustos graduated as an illustrator with high honors from the Art Center College of Design in 1989. He then went on to illustrate for many companies and magazines as well as having numerous fine art exhibits. Rey Bustos has been teaching since 1990 and is now considered one of the preeminent artistic anatomy teachers in the country, he is also on the teaching staff at Disney Feature Animation. Rey Bustos teaches Analytical Figure Drawing, Drawing and Composition, 3D Anatomy/Ecorche, 2D Anatomy and a class that he created, Imaginatomy: An Anatomical Approach to Animal and Character Development.
Course Changes or Cancellations
LAAFA reserves the right to cancel any class/workshop, limit workshop size, change class/workshop times or substitute instructors for those listed in the schedule.
If a class/workshop is cancelled; students may transfer to another class/workshop, use credit on artschoolvideos.com, keep credit on file or be issued a full refund.
Refunds and Transfers
All online classes and workshops are non-refundable.
There are no make-ups available for online courses. Students are emailed a 10-day access to each recorded session, made available the next day after the live session.
